Costers del Segre
Costers del Segre lies to the west of Barcelona province. It is one of
the most diverse of Spain’s wine producing regions both in terms of
grape varieties and wine styles. Imported varieties such as Cabernet
Sauvignon and Merlot Red supplement the traditional Garnacha,
Monastrell and Tempranillo for red wine. White varieties include
Macabeo, Chardonnay, Riesling and Sauvignon.
The local wineries are known for developing innovative wines of
consistently high quality, using interesting blends of the different
varieties grown here.
