Toro
A dry region, high up on the northwestern edge of the Castillian
plateau, Toro lies south of the Duero, west of the Rueda region
and produces powerful, full-bodied reds from its local variety of the
Tempranillo grape, Tinta de Toro. With a wine history dating back to
the Middle Ages, Toro’s winemakers have in the last ten years embraced
modern methods to add greater refinement and structure to the natural
fruit and depth of the region’s wines. |
