Rías Baixas
Once a well kept secret, Rías Baixas produces fragrant white wines
which are increasingly popular outside Spain. The cool, wet climate of
this picturesque region in Galicia, the north west corner of Spain,
which is named for its many coastal inlets (“rias”) is ideal for the
indigenous Albariño grape. A great accompaniment to fish, Rías Baixas
wines resemble Riesling with strong aromas of flowers and herbs and are
smooth, yet complex and persistent in the mouth. Thanks to the great
variation of micro climates between vineyards, each producer’s wine is
almost unique. |
